Mackay company lights up RCOE mine simulator

Link N Light is an innovative lighting solution designed and distributed by East West Lighting for the harsh underground mining environment.

The LED strip lighting supplied and installed for the RCOE underground mine simulator facilities is the exact lighting you’ll find on the job across the Bowen Basin, and rolling out to underground mine sites nationwide and worldwide.

The Resources Centre of Excellence (RCOE) is focused on driving innovation and collaboration in the mining industry, and partnering with East West Lighting to kit out the underground training facility was the perfect fit.

Traditional lighting found at underground mine sites uses hard wired fittings requiring installation and maintenance by qualified electricians, however, the Link N Light product incorporates plug and play flexible cabling, that is easy and extremely fast to install. The product has an extra low 48 DC voltage output, quick connectors and plugs, yet provides a high luminous efficiency output. It can be installed in runs of up to 240m from the power source.

Lance Walk, Director of East West Lighting said he was extremely proud to supply and install their patented Link N Light system within the facility.

“We’ve donated over 200 metres of lighting to this world-class training facility, and they’re set up exactly as you would find them in an underground mine. The facility will provide so much opportunity for the industry and shows the capabilities of our product.”

Link N Light can also be utilised for tunneling, commercial, and construction industries.  To find out more about this innovative lighting solution, visit the Link N Light website.
